Bette Conway’s creativity as a metalsmith wells deeply from her study of ancient art, music & nature itself. Bette is a geologist, metalsmith, and an Irish fiddler, and she finds pure beauty in mother earth’s creations, particularly in how rocks and minerals are formed. She frames nature’s beauty in stunning settings that capture their earthy essence. Coins, beach stones, fossils & gems achieve an understated elegance as they transform from found objects to wear-everyday treasures. Her passion for Irish music fuels the ancient designs and elements found in her work, and often celtic symbols are incorporated in a contemporary context into her metal designs. She has displayed her Celtic/modern natural jewelry designs at shows, stores, and festivals throughout the midwest and east coast.
