This unique stained glass mezuzah would make a fabulous housewarming or wedding gift to a Jewish couple, or a wonderful addition to your home. A turquoise "Shin" is embedded and fired onto a white kiln formed glass nugget, surrounded by white and turquoise white wispy stained glass.
The mezuzah scroll contains the first two paragraphs of the Shema prayer, declaring the oneness of God, and commanding us "to write [these words] on the doorpost of your house and on your gates" (Deut. 6:4-9). While this stained glass mezuzah case can be hung outdoors, it is not weatherproof.
Each stained glass mezuzah case includes a small glass vial with a cork cap. A non-Kosher (copied) mezuzah scroll is also provided. If you are in need of a Kosher scroll (hand lettered), it can often be purchased separately from any synagogue gift shop. The scroll is rolled with the prayer inward and the word Shaddai, the name of God, facing outward. Secure the scroll in the vial before mounting the mezuzah on your doorpost. The mezuzah should be hung at the bottom of the top third of your doorpost.
The mezuzah case measures 5" tall x 1" wide x3/4" deep. It has a small ring at top and bottom for hanging from a nail or screw. The menorah is constructed in the copper foil method of stained glass construction and the solder lines are left in their natural silvery tone and polished to as shine. The mezuzah also comes in a small gift box.
