hand needle felting wool painting

Still life of grapes and a traditional straw-covered chianti bottle on tan 100% wool felt background. Many colors are used to create the shadows and highlights. Framed in rich chestnut brown, (11x13"), it has a completely finished back with dust cover and picture wire.
Needle felting is a totally dry process in which loose, dyed wool fibers are repeatedly stabbed into a background using special small barbed needles. The constant movement tangles the fibers firmly into position. Framed without glass to enhance the texture, it requires no special care -- simply an occasional flick of a microfiber duster.
