Lavender Fields is needle felted with merino and maori wools on wool felt background with floral details in cotton yarn. 11x14 framed, with dustcover and hanging wire.
Needle felting is a totally dry process in which loose, dyed wool fibers are repeatedly stabbed into a background using special small barbed needles. The constant movement tangles the fibers firmly into position. Framed without glass to enhance the texture, it requires no special care -- simply an occasional flick of a microfiber duster.
