Autumn scene--pumpkins and barn. This piece is all hand needle felted on two layers of 100% wool felt and float framed on acid free foam core with a fabric covered backing. The frame is deep enough to be displayed on a mantel or shelf or it can be hung on the wall. Overall measurement is 9x9.
Needle felting is a totally dry process in which loose, dyed wool fibers are repeatedly stabbed into a background using special small barbed needles. The constant movement tangles the fibers firmly into position. Framed without glass to enhance the texture, it requires no special care -- simply an occasional flick of a microfiber duster.
