A handsome fox hand needle felted onto linen. I used many shades of gold, brown, black and white to create the details in this picture. Ready to hang, the frame measures 10x10 and has a completely finished back with dust cover and picture wire.
Needle felting is a totally dry process in which loose, dyed wool fibers are repeatedly stabbed into a background using special small barbed needles. The constant movement tangles the fibers firmly into position. Framed without glass to enhance the texture, it requires no special care -- simply an occasional flick of a microfiber duster.
